Stereoisomers of tartaric acid derivatives having two long alkyl chains were synthesized. The surface pressure-area isotherms for these compounds were investigated and preparation of Langmuir-Blodgett films was carried out. d- And meso-ditetradecanoyl tartaric acids formed stable monolayers on aqueous CdCl2.
